May 2024 SFPE Chapter Meeting

This is the regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the Middle TN Chapter of SFPE. 

David Stacy and Austin Grant (Performance Based Fire Protection Engineering) will be presenting "Clearing the Air on Smoke Control". 

• Fundamental basis of smoke control systems (atriums, stair pres, elev pres, smoke protected seating)
• Applicable codes and code requirements triggering various types of smoke control systems
• How smoke control systems are sized and engineered (hand calcs, fire modeling)
• The acceptance and annual testing requirements of these systems (acceptance testing, commissioning, and annual)

**This month we are MEETING AT THE TN STATE FIRE MARSHAL'S OFFICE** Check-in at the lobby desk and the meeting will be on the 9th floor. Recommended parking is the parking deck on Harrison Street.
